Practical guide
Use this workflow before choosing another tool.
Freelancers, agencies, and operators managing live client work who need a clearer recurring update format. The useful move is to turn that search into a small operating decision: what gets captured, who reviews it, what copy is safe, and what should stop before it reaches a customer.
A strong status update lets a client scan progress, blockers, decisions, and next actions in one pass. It should be predictable enough to send every week. Treat the template below as a starting point for review, not as final external copy. The buyer still needs to adapt it to their business, product, policy, tools, consent rules, and support boundaries.
- 01Status: green, yellow, or red with one sentence explaining why.
- 02Completed: the concrete work finished since the last update.
- 03Blocked: decisions, access, files, or dependencies that need attention.
- 04Next: owner, due date, and expected deliverable before the next update.
